Does a bike helmet protect you?
We always recommend to our clients to wear a helmet. It can definitely prevent injuries and even save your life. They aren’t designed to remain undamaged. As you hit the pavement, it’ll crack transferring the power of the impact into the helmet away from the head. Helmets must pass a specific safety test. After they pass it, they’re certified. The price of helmets goes from $49 to $300. With that money, you pay for lightweight, desirability, ventilation, that kind of things. You may find them in three different sizes. A good way of deciding which size works for you is to measure your head.
There is a traditional road helmet. You can make it tighter and looser by adjusting it on the back. It’s pretty light and very well ventilated. There is a time trial helmet, which is more aerodynamic. It’s a bit heavier and has a lot fewer vents, designed for time trials and triathlons. Riding without a helmet is a not a smart move, so we really recommend riding a bike with your helmet on.
